From My Farm to Your Family

Real Food for Real Life

Does getting a healthy meal on the table feel impossible between carpools, pickups, and that never-ending to-do list?

You want to feed your family better—real, nutrient-dense food you can trust—but sourcing it (let alone cooking it) feels like just one more thing.

I built this farm for you, mama

Lord-Cranmer Farm started with my own story—from the chaos of late nights in fine dining to the quiet rhythm of regenerative farming. After years running restaurants—and silently struggling with addiction—I got sober, left the city, and started over in Newberg, Oregon. With the final gift and blessing of my grandmother, I followed a calling: to grow food with integrity, for families who care.

Today, I raise over 1,200 pasture-raised birds—chickens, ducks, laying hens, and heritage turkeys—using regenerative practices and rotational grazing. I tend a historic patch of blueberries in Hopewell. And I do it all with one goal: to make it easier for you to feed your family food that’s better—for the animals, the land, and your life.

  • Whole and cut-up pasture-raised chickens and ducks

  • Fresh, nutrient-rich eggs from free-roaming hens

  • Holiday-ready heritage turkeys

  • Blueberries picked at peak ripeness

  • Easy recipes and quick video tutorials

With a little prep—and a few chef tips from me—you’ll feel confident knowing your family is well-fed, even on the busiest nights. Because mealtime shouldn’t be another source of stress. It should be a moment to slow down, to nourish, to connect.

So whether you’re wrangling toddlers or waiting up for your teen to roll in, I’m here to support you with real food raised right. Welcome to the farm. I’m so glad you’re here.

Meet the Farmer Behind Your Food!

About David

Hi, I’m David—and I’ve always felt a deep pull toward the land and a love for serving others through food and hospitality.

Though I grew up in the suburbs of San Francisco, my fondest memories are of collecting eggs from the chicken coop and exploring the fields of my family’s Christmas tree farm. That early connection to land and food sparked a lifelong journey—one that led me from kitchens to dining rooms to vineyards, and ultimately back to the soil.

My hospitality career took me around the world: from hotel school in Switzerland, to fine dining in Shanghai, to culinary training in Chicago where I discovered a passion for beverage. I eventually returned to California to work in the wine industry, landing at Nick’s Cove on Tomales Bay. It was there, in a truly local, farm-to-table kitchen, that I first understood the transformative power of sourcing directly from the land—and something deeper within me was awakened.

In 2020, after confronting and overcoming alcohol dependency, I made a fresh start thanks to a generous gift from my grandmother. I bought a home in Newberg, Oregon—a place I had fallen in love with—and threw myself into regenerative farming. I worked on a farm-restaurant project that allowed me to reconnect with the land while still sharing meals and hospitality with the community. Later, I joined RAW Cider Co., where I helped build a tasting room from the ground up and gained the confidence to pursue my own dream.

That dream started small—with 25 chicks, two turkeys, and a simple idea: "Let’s build a chicken coop." After a tragic fire destroyed my first coop and birds, I thought it might be a sign to walk away. But something inside me said, "Order more birds." So I did.

What began as a backyard project turned into a full-blown passion. I read, learned, built, and rebuilt—slowly but surely creating a farm rooted in care, intention, and resilience. In October 2024, I closed on a 10.5-acre property in the Hopewell area of West Salem. Now, that land is home to over 1,200 birds—hens, roosters, ducks, turkeys, and some very vocal geese.

Lord-Cranmer Farm isn’t just about food—it’s about healing, connection, and creating something that truly nourishes. It’s about raising the standard for what food can be, and offering families a slower, more intentional way to live and eat. Every egg, every harvest, every meal is part of a story rooted in resilience, growth, and purpose. Welcome to the farm—I’m so glad you’re here.
